Our Story
Ascent Lifting is a full-service distributor and fabricator of lifting and rigging products including wire rope, chain, synthetic slings and other related hardware. Formed in 2022 by Shorehill in partnership with Charlie Jaques and the Ascent Lifting management team, the vision is to build the leading value-added distributor of rigging products and services throughout the United States. The long-term strategy is centered on building a strong culture, developing operational best practices to support future growth, and expanding their’s geographic and product breadth both organically and through acquisition.

2022 / SEPTEMBER
Shorehill partners with Advantage Sales and Susquehanna Wire Rope & Rigging
Founded in 2022, in partnership between Shorehill Capital LLC, Advantage Sales & Supply and Susquehanna Wire Rope & Rigging, Ascent Lifting began their model of selling value-added rigging and cargo control products, both on a nationwide scale and in the local Pennsylvania markets they’d served. These products include chain, wire rope, synthetic slings, and other related hardware. Combining organic growth and growth by acquisition, the vision was to create the world’s leading distributor of rigging products in North America.
2023 / FEBRUARY
Ascent Lifting Acquires Cargo Control USA
In February of 2023, Ascent Lifting acquired Cargo Control USA (CCUSA), a full line synthetic sewing operation in Sanford, NC. CCUSA is primarily focused on synthetic lifting and load securement manufacturing. As synthetic products are inherently a consumable product, the acquisition of CCUSA allowed us to expand into the ever-growing synthetic market.
2023 / APRIL
Ascent Lifting Merges with Certex USA
In April of 2023, Ascent Lifting merged with Certex USA. For the last two decades, Certex USA has established itself as a household name in the rigging industry. Combining with Certex USA has created the industry’s largest geographical footprint nationwide, with 38 locations. The synergies between the original Ascent Lifting companies and Certex USA have created a vertically integrated platform that is ideal for the organic growth of both top and bottom lines.
